Medical Assistant Program

The Medical Assistant plays an important role as a member of the Health care team in a physician’s office or clinic. Theory and practical application in the fundamentals of medical diagnostic and laboratory techniques are taught. Students are introduced to the anatomy and physiology of the body systems and become Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certified (CPR). Additionally, students engage in hands-on training with regard to venipuncture, injections urinalysis, and electrocardiograohy, measurement of vital signs, and preparation for physical and specialty exams.

Students are also taught basic medical office administrative procedures. Graduates are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to meet the requirements of an entry level Medical Assistant and qualify for positions in a variety of health care facilities. Graduates of the program are eligible for and encouraged to take the Registered Medical Technologist (RMT) exam that is offered by American Medical Technologists (AMT). These credentials are nationally recognized voluntary certifications that could greatly enhance employment opportunities.

Curriculum Objectives

The OmniTech Networking Program (ONP) is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in networking on multiple platforms – Microsoft Windows XP and UNIX. It also introduces the student to the popular Music Engineering field if those specializations are chosen. As well as the start commonalities between Computer and Network Engineer and the need for the modern day Music Engineer to have the same set of skills as the Computer and Network Engineer.

Upon successful completion of the course and maintaining a 2.0 GPA or better the student will receive and Omnitech Institute Certificate in their specialization (Networking Engineer or Music Engineer), which certifies that the student is prepared to take many standard industry Certification exams for their specific specification.

For Network Engineering this includes: A+, Network+; MCP (Windows XP), MCP (2003 Server); CCNA, CCNP, and Security +. For Music Engineer the certifications vary.

Curriculum Objectives The Health Information Technology Program (HIT) is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in preparing them for the daily responsibilities that include coding, billing and collection, bookkeeping, banking procedures, medical office accounting and management. Combined these courses will make students more marketable and versatile for real world scenarios they will encounter.
